Place branding · City of Miami
Problem

Miami is perceived as the branded house of the South Beach party scene, when it is really a house of brands built from dozens of artistic communities.

Insight

Everyone is an artist in Miami.

Strategy

Inspire the artist within people by connecting them to the art around them.

Solution

We launched M[IAM]I across several mediums, with a different resident artistic competition sustaining the brand each year.

KFC Spain

Problem

Post pandemic, Spain suffered a series of social crises. We were asked to address one and build a campaign around "first chances."

Insight

Spanish people are exhausted by the vicious circle of post-pandemic loneliness. Sometimes we need a little help from our friends.

Strategy

Invite people to rediscover the healing power of community with KFC.

Solution

American homestyle cooking already reads as the center of community. We created KFC catered Plaza Parties with games and activities to restart local celebration.

Naval officer

US Naval Academy graduate. Surface Warfare Officer, Force Protection Officer, and Oceanography Officer. Deployed with the first Expeditionary Strike Group to the Middle East aboard USS OGDEN (LPD-5) in response to 9/11. Resigned commission as Lieutenant in 2005.

Storyteller

A career as a working actor through 2018. The lasting lesson was Joseph Campbell's hero's journey: every story carries meaning when it is told effectively. Strategy is storytelling with consequences.

Wanderer

Six continents, seven seas, more than fifty countries. The discipline learned: appreciating, without judgment, how other humans live. It remains the most useful strategic instrument I own.
